What really made me decide to go for the PC version is that there are so few tutorials about the Mac version, which made it insanely frustrating when I inevitably got stuck on how to make something work. The PC version has way more goodies, but that wasn't a huge selling point for me because what my industry does with autocad is using a fraction of what cad can do. A recent independent study took an in-depth look at AutoCAD vs AutoCAD LT. Granted, my files are never huge, but I would recommend trying parallels out first regardless. AutoCAD is a 2D and 3D design and drafting application for Windows, Mac OS. The reviews for parallels that I've read warn that the fact that it's an app presents limitations on how big your files can be, but I've had no problems with lagging. I have dual monitors, so I run autocad on one and can keep running my Mac software on the other monitor. This is because it runs as an application, so you don't have to restart and switch your operating system. It's a free software that doesn't partition your hard drive. For full AutoCAD, support for LISP and ObjectARX/DBX applications, 3D design tools (including 3D free-form modeling), and 3D visualization are included. For both AutoCAD for Mac and AutoCAD LT for Mac, this includes 2D design, customization of the user interface, and much more. I have a 2 y/o MacBook and run the PC autocad using parallels. AutoCAD products for Mac include the most popular functionality of the Windows versions of AutoCAD & AutoCAD LT.
